ETHGlobal has changed the starting-point rule for Tokyo. Teams may now bring any repository they already have rather than starting from an empty one, and existing code is welcomed. Team size stays at one to five and the sponsor SDK cap stays at three. For a sponsor this moves the integration decision earlier, because a team arriving with a codebase has usually already chosen its dependencies.
It gets you listed. The published Tokyo prize pool already includes tracks from World at $15,000, ENS at $10,000, Uniswap Foundation at $10,000, 1inch at $7,000 and Sui at $5,000, and each team can only use three sponsor SDKs. A prize sheet is read once. A workshop the night before hacking opens is where a team decides what to install.
